Rooted in Philosophy, Rising in Confidence
Saturday 18th April, 1pm-4pm at The Yoga Shala
It’s the 2nd Workshop in our “Rooted in Philosophy, Rising in Confidence” Series and I’m so excited we’re back!
I created this series to support new and prospective Yoga teachers at the start of their teaching journey. If you’re feeling the nerves, imposter syndrome or simply don’t know how to start your journey, you’re not alone! This feeling is very fresh in my mind and sometimes the support you receive at the start isn’t quite what you’d hoped for - but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
I’ve been teaching for just a year and now I often find myself in a flow state while I teach. And this hasn’t just come with time and practice, but this has come with an understanding:Teaching Yoga is not a performance. It’s about sharing an ancient practice from an authentic and honest place. After all, if we are teaching a practice that guides us to release ego and to live honestly, it only makes sense to practice what we teach!
This time we will dive a couple steps deeper into everything we touched on in Workshop 1, in a way that is digestible and actionable!
What to expect on the day:
1 hour Practice - I will lead a full 1 hour practice, incorporating Mantra, Pratyāhāra, Prāṇāyāma, Dhāraṇā, Dhyāna, Āsana, to set the tone for our practice
Yogic Philosophy - A refresher on Workshop 1 and adding on. How Yogic Philosophy can support our own practice and our teaching, how we can begin weaving philosophy into our classes
Sanskrit - Explore the use of Sanskrit and confidently incorporate more terms into your practice, with correct pronunciation
Magic of Mantra - Exploring mantra, how and where we can use this to set intentions and support students, as well as ourselves
Community vibes - Extra space has been carved for us to spend time putting into practice what we’ve learned in a safe and welcoming space, time to teach each other!
How to start your teaching journey - Where to teach, who to teach and more…
This workshop is not only about learning, but time for us to connect and support each other, building a healthy community of teachers.
Our previous workshop was truly magical, with such beautiful discussions on this practice and how it’s helped us. We had great conversations on how Yoga in the West has confused many of us and how we’re coming back to the roots, how we can better support each other, ourselves and students of Yoga to find a more authentic, aligned and respectful approach to this practice. AND SO MUCH MORE!!! I hope you can join us!
If you didn’t attend our Rooted in Philosophy Workshop 1, I created a little digital booklet as an overview - which you’re welcome to add on for £2 (details below). It’s not at all necessary, but could be helpful!
Finally you have any questions, or wish to pay in 2 please get in touch here!
EARLY BIRD OFFER UNTIL MARCH 21st.
